What I've been reading

I've been away a bit lately so haven't been doing much posting. I'll try to put up a few things near the end of this week, but for now, here is the link to a series of pieces in the Hankyoreh on the twenty year anniversary of the 1987 June Uprising, enjoy.

  1. Hi - Thanks for all the great information and analysis; this blog is invaluable. I'm wondering if you might have any book recommendations for me - I'd like to learn more about activism and social movements in Korea in the 1980s. I'm in Korea researching the 1980 Gwangju uprisings for my novel, and would like a better sense of the years that followed. I'm particularly interested in student activism in the late 80s, after June 1987. Thanks in advance for any help or advice you might have.
